Sleep and Beauty: Bedtime Beauty from the Bottom Up

Don't forget your tootsies!

Lynda Eichner's soothing concoction for your feet and toes will help you slough the summer off so that your toes can go comfortably under the duvet cover for the long winter...

Now that summer is over, it's getting dark a little bit earlier hopefully leaving time for a few added beauty rituals.  If your skin is feeling dry already, take heart.  You'll find some relief here with a few, homemade treatments.

Let's start from the ground up.  Whether you were sipping iced tea next to the pool or walking miles in the sand, chances are your summer feet are a little weathered.  Take some time before you go to sleep to care for them. Here's an inexpensive method and recipe for getting your feet in tip-top shape for the long winter ahead.

Mix equal parts of honey, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, fruit puree (any kind will do....if you're feeling lazy, just use applesauce) with sea salt, and baking powder. While sitting on the edge of your bathtub, massage into your feet, paying special attention to your toes and ankles.  Let it sit for 4 or 5 minutes and rinse.  Moisturize and put some socks on before you sleep.  (You can use the aforementioned ghee or your favorite oil).  I recommend 1 to 2 times a week.  Make enough for 2 applications and keep in the refrigerator for  up to 10 days.  You will indeed see a difference!

It's also the right time for the milk and honey bath that I previously wrote about!!!! Stay tuned for some more things to do as the weather changes!
